How does Stoperan Junior work?
Inhibition
of intestinal peristalsis
Loperamide, an ingredient in Stoperan Junior, treats diarrhea by acting directly on the gut wall. This drug usually stops diarrhea within a few hours by reducing excessive intestinal peristaltic movements.t3.
Fewer
bowel
movements
By slowing down peristalsis and increasing water resorption, gastrointestinal content moves more slowly, which reduces the frequency of bowel movements.

Rapid
effect
Stoperan Junior usually stops diarrhea within a few hours3.
Liquid relief for children
Available in liquid form, it is an ideal alternative to tablets, making it extremely friendly for young patients3.

What types of diarrhea can Stoperan be used for?

stress, a change in diet,
or mild food poisoning

Acute diarrhea
- Treatment should be initiated with 2 mg of loperamide (10 mL of solution = 2 measuring caps) administered orally.

- Treatment with Stoperan Junior should be discontinued as soon as bowel movements are normal or if there are no bowel movements at all within 12 hours.
- The maximum dose a child can take in 24 hours depends on their body weight. For every 10 kg of body weight, a child should not take more than 3 mg of loperamide (15 mL = 3 measuring caps) per day. Please note that a child should never take more than 16 mg of loperamide (80 mL = 16 measuring caps) per day.
Chronic diarrhea
- On the first day, administer 2 mg of loperamide (10 mL of solution = 2 measuring caps) per day.
- Then, depending on the severity of the symptoms, the daily dose should be adjusted individually to achieve 1 to 2 bowel movements of firm consistency per day. Usually, 2 mg of loperamide (10 mL of solution = 2 measuring caps) to 12 mg of loperamide (60 mL of solution = 12 measuring caps) per day is sufficient for this purpose.
